Infrastructure as Code with Ansible: a full, idempotent deployment driven by host groups.
Scope
- Playbooks and roles: hosts, groups by hostname (web server, mail server, webmail, DB) and further supporting roles, variables and an idempotent deployment.
- Configuration: not just system settings, but the applications on top of them as well.
- Supporting roles: firewall, hardening the system against remote access, and backups.
- Own and adopted roles: I wrote the simpler roles myself, because it was easier that way; the more complex ones I adopted and adapted to the environment.
- OpenStack: contributions to the deployment via Ansible – mainly adjustments when deploying in the test environment, driven by new versions and by changes during development and various scenarios.
